CLASSES FOR:

If you’ve had previous professional training and are not sure which class to enrol in, please see Curriculum (under QUICK LINKS) to assess your level. If you are enrolling for the first time and not enrolling into a Tots 1, Youth 1/2, or Adult 1/2 level class: Create your account and then email skate.school@obrienicehouse.com.au with your skill level. This must be adjusted in your account by our admin team before you’ll be able to enrol in the higher level class.
DURATION
- Classes: 30 minutes
- Rising Stars Freeskate: 1 hr On-ice + 45 min Off-ice
EQUIPMENT
- Hire equipment provided: Skates, helmet, knee pads, wrist guards
- We recommend that students purchase their own pair of skates after passing Level 3/4. Properly fitted skates provide the necessary support and stability, while allowing the bend (at ankle) required for achieving inside and outside edges (skills in Level 5/6). Blade quality is also necessary after Level 3/4 for turns and spins. Please see staff at the Skate School desk, or email us at skate.school@obrienicehouse.com with any questions regarding figure skates.
PREREQUISITES
Before committing to a term of classes, we strongly recommend you try ice skating BEFORE enrolling. Skate aids are available to hire, if needed. Click here for all our skating options. Requirements to join Skate School:
- You can hold your own balance standing on the ice in ice skates without holding on to anything or anyone.
- Children must be comfortable without their parent/guardian and able to take instructions in a class environment.
There are no refunds for a “change of mind”. Please read the Terms & Conditions before enrolling. (see QUICK LINKS)
