International Ice Hockey Returns to the Icehouse!
Ice Hockey Australia and Ice Hockey New Zealand are set to bring the ‘Mighty Roos’ and ‘Ice Blacks’ to Melbourne in March 2027 for another exciting Trans-Tasman Ice Hockey Challenge!
Following one of the most thrilling AIHL seasons with sell out games across multiple arenas, we are excited to welcome the two national teams for this epic event at Australia’s premier ice sports venue, the O’Brien Icehouse at District Docklands.
The last two showdowns have seen the Aussie’s win in nailbiters, taking both series two games to one. Will the Ice Blacks win the series in 2027?

The District Docklands West Car Park (88 Pearl River Road) is the closest available parking. We recommend parking in The District Docklands East Car Park (90 Waterfront Way) which has greater capacity and more exits. More info & pricing can be found on their website.
TRAM
Take the free City Circle tram (from Flinders Street or La Trobe Street) direct to The District Docklands, Docklands stop or from the CBD take the free Tram 70 (via Flinders Street) and Tram 86 (via Bourke Street) will also take you to The District Docklands, Docklands stop. O’Brien Icehouse is only a 5 minute walk from the last stop along Pearl River Road which is at the set of traffic lights just past the tram stop. Plan your public transport journey here!
As a condition of entry into O’Brien Icehouse, all guests are subject to a ticket check at the entrance point into the venue.
This process takes time, so we encourage patrons to arrive close to the gate opening time as possible. Limiting the number of bags and items you bring can significantly reduce entry time, so please leave unnecessary items at home.
Please have your tickets ready and in hand when reaching the turnstiles. If you are using a mobile ticket, please ensure it is loaded on your screen. Your phone’s brightness must be turned all the way up for the ticket to successfully scan at the turnstile.
O’Brien Icehouse is a cashless venue and will only accept EFTPOS at all transaction points.
Our priority is the safety and enjoyment of all guests. If you or your friends are experiencing anti-social behaviour, please text us immediately on 0404 877 165 with your location and a brief description of the behaviour, or speak to one of our staff/security members who are easily identified in bright yellow event security services vests.
