In the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL), Andrew played for the Melbourne Mustangs and the Melbourne Ice, earning three Goodall Cups during his tenure with the teams.
Andrew is an IIHF certified level 2 coach. His roles have included Assistant Coach for the 2018 Victorian U18 Tange Team, and the 2019/20 Cochrane Generals in the AJHL, Head Coach for the Victorian U18 Tange Team in 2022 and 2023, and Head Coach for the U18 Dockland Ice Wolves in 2021 and 2022. Currently, he serves as the Director of Player Development for Ice Hockey Australia.
Andrew’s coaching philosophy emphasizes long-term player development, valuing the growth of character as highly as skill development. He focuses on educating and equipping players with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary to excel both on and off the ice. His approach fosters a strong team culture, core values, and principles within an optimal learning environment, demonstrating his unwavering passion and commitment to player improvement.
Additionally, Andrew holds a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy, giving him a deep understanding of athletic performance and injury prevention, which further enhances his coaching expertise.
